Prioritizing reproducibility for scientific advancement
A breast cancer researcher frustrated by the hurdles of finding potential collaborators and core facilities outside her local academic institution, Elizabeth Iorns sought out a new way to do research. In 2011, Elizabeth founded and currently directs Science Exchange, an online marketplace for outsourcing science experiments. Science Exchange’s mission is to make scientific research more efficient by making it easy for researchers to access resources and experimental expertise at any research institution. Elizabeth also sits on the Advisory Board of the Reproducibility Initiative, a Science Exchange project that aims to help researchers identify and reward high quality reproducible research via independent validation of key experimental results.
