Sigrid Fry-Revere

Sigrid Fry-Revere, Founder and President of the Center for Ethical Solutions, discusses organ transplantation policy and provides an intriguing, if controversial living organ donation solution from abroad.

“Sometimes the truth lies not in abstract principles but in the stories of the lives affected and lost.” — Sigrid Fry-Revere

ABOUT SIGRID

Lawyer and bioethicist Sigrid Fry-Revere is the first Westerner to study and document the kidney donation system in Iran, the only country in the world to have solved its kidney donor shortage. The Kidney Sellers, her recently published book about the experience, has been met with both controversy and high acclaim. Sigrid’s activism around organ donation was inspired by her son’s kidney cancer and her rejection as a kidney donor. The former director of bioethics at the Cato Institute, Sigrid now directs two public, non-partisan charities that she founded: Stop Organ Trafficking Now, and The Center for Ethical Solutions.
