About Gary
Gary Conkright is a successful serial entrepreneur who is passionate about using advanced technology to solve major problems, especially in healthcare. With a background as a Purdue Aeronautical Engineer and a business degree from the University of Chicago, he has a unique mix of technical and business knowledge. Gary previously founded a company called SmartSignal (now part of GE Intelligent Platforms). This company developed an advanced form of computer analysis, called predictive analytics, to monitor the health of large industrial machines, such as jet engines and power plant equipment. He realized the need for this same kind of technology in medicine when he noticed it was easier to monitor a jumbo jet remotely than it was for a doctor to keep track of his mother’s chronic illness. This experience inspired him to focus on making healthcare more proactive and personalized. Gary is the Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of PhysIQ, a leader in digital medicine. PhysIQ applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its proprietary personalized analytics to data collected from wearable biosensors. Unlike traditional methods that compare a patient’s health to general averages, PhysIQ creates a unique baseline for each person. This allows the system to detect subtle, early changes in a patient’s health—like a “check engine light” for the human body—and notify doctors. This technology is being used to transform care for chronically ill patients and support clinical trials, moving healthcare from a reactive model to one that is proactive and predictive.
