Human API is a universal health data platform. We collect and normalize health data from any source, and allow developers to easily integrate it into any application.
Q: Please tell us how your business idea was conceived. Was there an "aha" moment or did it evolve gradually?
A: As aspiring health app developers, we were frustrated by the lack of
data portability, normalization, and formatting throughout the
healthcare industry. It was clear that poor data exchange was slowing
innovation to a crawl. Human API evolved from our need to easily access
health data from any app, device, EMR, or system.
Q: What's the most inventive, innovative, or disruptive aspect of your initiative?
A: We unify and normalize an individual’s health data across applications
and systems. This empowers people to control the flow of their data and
makes it easier for developers to create innovative tools.
Q: How will it help people live to their greatest potential or contribute to making the world healthier?
A: We believe that seamless data portability will unlock insights about an
individual’s health that were not previously understood. Our hypothesis
is that the next generation of healthcare applications will use unified
patient data to provide more personalized, integrated care.
Q: Five years from now, what would you like to be able to say has been your most important contribution to health?
A: Our goal is to have perfect health data portability across all health
applications and systems. If we can completely eliminate the data
integration barrier to building applications, we will have made a great
impact.
Q: What single word or phrase best describes the culture of your startup and why?
A: Bold. We believe health data and APIs need to be rethought from the ground up to focus on consumers and developers first.
