Roxanne Khamsi
Chief News Editor at Nature Medicine
Roxanne Khamsi oversees science coverage as the chief news editor at the international biomedical journal Nature Medicine, published by Springer Nature. She is also an award-winning journalist whose articles have appeared in publications such as The Economist, Popular Science, Scientific American, Slate, Nature, Wired News and The New York Times. Khamsi has received numerous awards in her career, including the Walter C. Alvarez Award the American Medical Writers Association and a first-place award from the Association of Health Care Journalists for her reporting on the insurance issues plaguing medical foods. Khamsi earned her degree in biology from Dartmouth College, with a concentration in genetics. In addition to her work as a writer and editor, she teaches at Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York, as a lecturer in the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science.
